Need Some Q1 Marketing Calendar Inspiration?

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes. It’s cold, you’re hibernating, and probably broke from a little too much holiday cheer. You spent your Christmas money in the sales, and now you’re hunkering down to survive the rest of the winter.

With all that in mind...do we really want to send out more promotions?Well, yes and no.It’s a great time to remind customers why they fell in love with your brand in the first place. Take some extra time to nurture your customers. Make them feel warm and fuzzy. If they bought during Q4, touch base to make sure that they used and enjoyed their widget. Naturally, if they liked it, encourage them to buy a new one. In any case, Q1 is the time to nurture our cold, hibernating customers, into loyal, loving, warm-fuzzy buyers.Believe it or not, there are some holidays worth celebrating during the long icy stretch.

Use this list of holidays to build out your Q1 marketing calendar:

January

January 1: New Year’s DayJanuary 8: Winter Sales (European countries)January 18: Blue MondayJanuary 28: Data Protection Day

February

February 1: LGBT History MonthFebruary 1: Black History Month (US)February 7: Super BowlFebruary 2: Groundhog DayFebruary 12: Chinese New YearFebruary 14: Valentine’s DayFebruary 16: Mardi Gras

March

March 3: World Wildlife DayMarch 8: International Women’s DayMarch 14: National Pi DayMarch 14: Mother’s Day (UK)March 17: St. Patrick’s DayKeep these guidelines in mind:

  • Send 1 big sale every 4-6 weeks
  • Promote larger ticket items at the beginning of the month, lower ticket doorbusters at the end
  • Launch a new widget or new widget style every 4-6 weeks
  • Send engaging valuable content at least once per week

Btw, you don’t have to run a sale for every holiday...in fact, you shouldn’t. But if there’s a holiday that resonates with your audience (Pi Day, anyone?!) then you should at least use it as an excuse to send some engaging content that makes your customers smile.
